Kojic Acid Whitening Soap

What is Kojic Acid?
Kojic acid was discovered as a natural product derived form a mushroom in Japan in 1989. It has been successfully used to lighten pigment spots and skin discoloration and considered as a kind of popularly specialized inhibitor for melanin.
At present, it is assigned into various kinds of cosmetics for curing freckles, spots on the skin of elder men, pigmentation and acne.

How can Kojic acid inhibit the melanin?
On a molecular level, melanin is produced in the body from the conversion (in several steps) of the amino acid tyrosine. The conversion requires the enzyme known as tyrosinase. Kojic acid can prevent the tyrosinase activity through synthesizing reaction with its antioxidant properties after penetrating upper skin layers and entering skin cells to inhibit the formation of pigment at the deep cells on the skin. Kojic acid can produce excellent effects in even toning the skin, fighting age spots, pregnancy marks, freckles as well as general skin pigmentation disorders of face and body.
Is it safe to use Kojic acid for skin care?
It is a pure (98%) and natural material. It also is widely used in the field of medicine and food. Because it can eliminate free radicals, strengthen cell activity, and keep food fresh. Kojic Acid is widely consumed in the Japanese diet and is believed to be beneficial to health.

~GENERAL INFO~
Kojic Acid Soap was originally intended for Malaysia climate, which is hot and humid all year round, so it’s best to complement this with your favorite moisturizer - or use a sunscreen moisturizer with an SPF 30 or higher + UVA blocking sun protection and save yourself a step with your beauty routine. Avoid using moisturizers with strong exfoliating ingredients like retinol, alphahydroxy or salicylic acid – or any acids/exfoliants.
Always use sunscreen with UVA protection (UVA ray makes our skin tan and wrinkle, versus UVB that makes out skin burn) or else you’re just wasting your time using these products, that work by inhibiting the skin’s production of melanin.
If you don’t protect yourself from the sun, using these products is futile.
Even if you have sunscreen on, make it a habit to protect yourself physically from the sun through hats, sunglasses and long sleeved shirts because 50% of UVA rays occur in the shade.
Thicker parts of the skin like the elbows, knees and ankles may require heavier and more frequent lotion or cream application. Conversely, thinner or more sensitive parts of the skin like under the eyes, around the corner of the lips, underarms and the groin area may be too sensitive, so exercise caution when applying on these areas or avoid using on them too much.
Allow a few minutes to be absorbed, then moisturize (optional). Avoid using moisturizers with exfoliating ingredients like retinol, alphahydroxy or salicylic acid, or else skin might burn. For oily skin, use an oil-free, humectant (as opposed to occlusive) moisturizer.
After a few applications of Kojic Acid Soap, your skin might peel, itch or will seemingly get darker or ashier due to dead skin cells being resurfaced – these are normal side effects. Do not scratch or scrub your skin. Friction sometimes darkens skin.
For best results, you need to consume these products approximately every 2 weeks for at least 1 month or until you achieve the desired skin tone. You may decrease usage once you achieve the color you want.
